Along the way we are paying a huge premium to support these branded goods from Gucci,Christian Dior, Versace and countless other western brands in the market.Indirectly a huge proportion of the premium that we pay for these branded goods goes towards the cost of their advertising and image building for that brand. These branded goods are so high in demand and popular, it has even lead to counterfeiters in many 3rd world countries imitating these goods with an almost identical product to the original but selling it at a fraction of the price. If they can copy and almost make an identical product to these brands, why is it so difficult for them to create their own brand? Are we always going to be known as an imitator for the rest of our lives in Asia??
